  2. Oh Amanda, I just can't imagine. I'm so sorry. Hope you can remember her fondly and not all the issues surrounding the aging process. Hugs to you. My Sister weenie is diabetic and we are having so many difficulties with it. She's only 8 and I want her to live forever. I know Mia was a fine dog.

  4. Oh, no, no, NO! Although I never met Mia, her beautiful face and your loving words about her made me feel so close to her. (In fact, I re-named her breed after her... and will do so always... ) I really feel your grief and send many hugs and love.

    Always,

    ♥ Robin ♥

    1. Robin, I know how close you felt to Mia even though you never met and I always appreciated your loving and flattering words about her - she was the best Airedale in the world, as you know, and it makes me feel happy that you re-named the breed after her. She set the standard, as far as we're concerned.

Thank you for your loving and supportive words - sending a big comforting hug back to you dear twin ~ xoxo

    1. Annie, Thank you ~ and absolutely our hearts are better for having them in our lives. A neighbor told me a Dr. Seuss quote which I try to keep in mind: "Don't be sad because it's over, be happy because it happened."

I'm so sorry for your loss, Amanda. I read your blog often and always wonder about Mia. The picture you posted of you and Mia walking on the beach so reminded me of my beloved Cheyenne, who also lived to a very ripe old age. Toward the end, I walked her, on her leash, in the middle of the night because she could not rest. That picture of the two of you rekindled the sense of communion I had with her. It was one of the most precious gifts I've ever received. I will hold you both in my thoughts and heart.

    1. Susan, What a loving dog owner you are to have taken Cheyenne out at night when she couldn't rest - she was lucky to have such a caring 'mom'. Our pets do stay with us in our hearts forever, and I agree they are one of life's precious gifts.

Thank you for these lovely words, and on another note, for reading my blog.

  14. They ask so little and give so much, and Mia will give you joy for a long time, when the grief fades a little. I have reserved this name for the next kitten it fits (no problem there!) My extended family (less than 20) is getting too big for Corfu, and Konitsa is seriously beckoning. Again. Να'σαι καλα Αμαντα μου
