Goddesses in the Dust: The Bride
Unearthing the divine feminine, one archetype at a time...
The Bride is an ancient archetype. As half the partner in a marriage, she represents the alchemical process of union and a symbol of transpersonal love.
The bride is also my daughter, to be married in a few months. Even though she will have her own dress, some months ago, she tried on my wedding gown...
which we unpacked from the top most shelf in the closet, where it had been stored for many years
Last weekend I went with her to her dress fitting
drinking in all these moments
that are so special
for a mom and the bride to be♡
Glorious event! The wedding will be fun, too! But the more intimate moments, shard by two or three — they are also what build the history. (Seems poetic enough — Bear may be onto something here.)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Bear hugs, to you, your daughter, and your future son-in-law. "Woof" to Mia.
Congrats to you and your daughter Amanda!
ReplyDeleteI saw the most beautiful dress in a shop window here yesterday. It was set next to a low-cut sexy number, but while the one I liked was also sexy it was at the same time modest and classy and I thought I wish I knew someone who is getting married and I would direct them to this little shop in the Pearl. Since I doubt you all will come this far, I hope she finds something that fits her dream at home.
Rubye, she has found her dress - she really hoped to find one at a little shop here where we live as she would like to have purchased from a local business, but having to fly home to get it fitted was the tricky part. I hope the bridal shop near you finds success - it's a tough business!
DeleteOh Amanda, that's so exciting. I love weddings. I have three lined up this year and I get so excited each time. Of course, the bride's dress is always the highlight of the whole event.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter! What a wonderful time in one's life.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You and your daughter will be closer and closer through all the stages of life she'll be entering
ReplyDeleteThat's such a beautiful thing to look forward to - thank you Rosaria♡
DeleteI welled up and laughed with happiness a little when I got to the last picture, Amanda. A little speechless at the moment. I am so sending you all my love, support and joy.
ReplyDeleteYou look radiant with pride, btw.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to your daughter and in your son-in-law-to-be, Amanda :-)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet Amanda.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! It's fun following your daughter's engagement to your wedding dress shopping. I saved my dress for my daughter too. Did your daughter consider wearing your dress at her wedding?
ReplyDeleteShe did consider it, but it really wasn't the style she was looking for. I'm happy actually that she is getting her own dress. Mine will go back in the box for perhaps another generation :))
Deleteenjoy every minute! soak it all in, it's wonderful
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! You must be bursting with excitement! x
ReplyDeleteThis is as special as it gets. And you get to write a speech filled with love and wisdom. You are both beautiful. I am especially touched by the button...
