Le Manoir de Herouville

Deep in the Normandy countryside lies a farmhouse called Le Manoir de Herouville, which has been lovingly converted into a guesthouse.
We admired the gorgeous grounds both in the morning,

and evening

and relaxed in the luxurious surroundings
including this claw-footed tub, which I adored.
We spent equal amounts of time besides the blazing fireplace sipping wine in the evenings,
 and eating our breakfast,
and enjoyed a tour of the grounds, courtesy of Charlotte
and her parents, our amazing hosts - thank you Michael and Catherine!

  1. It looks like we're following each others' footsteps. We were in Normandy two weeks ago and stayed in what used to be the barn of a manor called Le Vaumicel. Normandy is beautiful. We adored it.

    1. Cool - we almost crossed paths! Normandy is gorgeous - and with all those cows the cheeses are the best!

  4. Ah! A nice Bordeaux by the fireplace. Sounds heavenly. Enjoy! (May I point you towards Martin Walker's "Bruno, Chief of Police" series, about a small village cop solving crimes and living the good life deep in la France profonde. Lovely series of books. #10 is coming out in June.)

    1. Thomas, That was the one thing missing, a good read by the fireplace. Thanks for the book suggestion!
