Answers from the Greek Landscape

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Lao Tzu

A few months ago I wrote about questions that the Greek landscape provokes  in me. The expression of a mother's face, the lilt in two men's limbs; these are but a few of the answers.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward whatever way they like.

  1. oh, the landscape of people! this is when we are at our best, with love. my god, i love these photographs.

why isn't the news filled with these events? why don't we propagate this way when in fact this is how we propagate?!

    1. I love that - the landscape of people. I often fantasize about a 24 news channel that's all love, all the time...

  2. It's true - we most go with the flow (reminder to self). Love the pictures you've added at the bottom too. As I am an island most of the time here on the farm, miles from nowhere, it is nice to see the interaction.

    1. I guess we can be on islands, even those that aren't in the middle of seas...

  4. Good advice. 'Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes.' In other words, go with the flow. It's not always easy to do but it's worth trying.

  6. Love the tenderness in that first photo, and the other photo of you staring out to sea - the tones of that sea are incredibly beautiful.

This post really connects with me Amanda, Im having the oddest days just lately here in my landscape. And those last lines of the second quote - Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward whatever way they like...

On saturday I jotted these words down which popped into my head during the latest oddity here (bit of a play on Tolkien I realise - forgive me please Mr T)

    - Not all who wonder desire an answer nor a reason why.

So yes! do not resist and go with the flow ... and in my case that would be follow that turkey!

    1. I love that Annie. Will try to remember that in the coming days: Not all who wonder desire an answer now a reason why.

Reminds me of the opposite, a Nietzsche quote: He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.

    2. Now I read that quote may also be attributed to Viktor Frankl. Anyone know the answer to that one?
